Meeting Room Public Library policy

The Powell County Public Library will make the meeting room available to any group of citizens who currently live or own property in the county

Meeting Room

The Powell County Public Library will make the meeting room available to any group of citizens who currently live or own property in the county with the understanding that they meet the following rules:

Library sponsored activities are given priority in scheduling use of the facilities.

No meetings of non-library organizations may be held for purely social functions

Application for use of the facility must be made in person with the completion of the application form.

There is no charge for the use of the facility. Donations are gladly accepted.

In case of night meetings on days the library is not open, arrangements must be made for picking up and returning the key.

Children’s groups may use the facility provided they are supervised by at least one (1) adult for every ten (10) children.

Organizations holding meetings must assume responsibility for any damage to either the room or its contents.

The facility must be left clean; in the meeting room, chairs must be stacked neatly, floor swept.

If the meeting is after hours, other areas of the library are off limits. The library is closed. No books or other library materials may be checked out.

No smoking is permitted anywhere in the library
