Are you a tourist or an intern in Powell County?

   You can use the Powell County Public Library!  All of our programs are free and open to the public.  You don’t need a library card or show residency to attend!  Check out our calendar below or our facebook page for programs.

Library Policies

In order to establish a safe environment which promotes the enjoyment and full utilization of the library, patrons must adhere to the following rules.

Checkout Services

Library patrons are responsible for all materials checked out on their card as well as the cards of children for whom they are responsible.

Books

Books are checked out for two weeks and can be renewed twice for a total of six weeks.

Magazines

Magazines are checked out for two weeks and can be renewed twice for a total of six weeks.

DVDS

DVDs are checked out for one week with no renewals.

Interlibrary Loan Books

Books received through ILL have individual due dates assigned to them by the lending library.

Hotspots

Patrons may check out a hotspot for use outside of the library if they are in good standing with no overdue items, fines, or fees.

Renewals

Renewals may be made over the phone or online through our cataloging system.
